What am I missing here.  You are probably correct but there seem to be a number of conferences with 3 losses (all in bold)

Not in the one tournament that matters.

I've been looking everywhere for an explanation of whether the "opening round" games count as part of the NCAA tournament or not. Wikipedia states that it is not considered (not the greatest source), but I can't find anything else to the contrary.

I thought I saw a blurb after one of those 16 seeds won about "First NCAA Tournament win."  I could be mistaken though.

haha...yeah had it said we have more losses in the tournament that counts, I wouldn't have made my comment.  That being said what you all said is true.  Just wanted to make sure I was on the same page. ;)

Well, it looks like the Power 5 conferences all rose to the top today. Not a good day for the Big East (they went 0-4 today). Big Ten rises up a spot in the NCAA conference outcome. ACC holding off strong so far (except for Miami). Pac-12 doing a lot with a little (5 teams in, all 5 win). SEC also doing a lot with a little. Big 12 holding off strong.

Big 12 ends up taking the lead after these last couple of days, with the ACC dropping to #3 overall with only two teams remaining (UNC - NCAA and Georgia Tech - NIT). Pac-12 and SEC are still doing a lot with less.
