Assuming there's no upset win at Indiana or at Maryland, the most important game of the season is the home game with Iowa. Lose that, and there's a potential tailspin, win it, and there's the confidence to compete in some games.

This is based on Saragin rankings and a couple toss-ups, I gave to the home team.  Big 10 tournament included in overall record.  Also, overall record based on Indiana losing to Louisville.

This is a really tough Big Ten season to predict.  I think the conference is so balanced that we are going to see plenty of surprises.   Perhaps even a dark horse rising up from near the bottom of the pre-conference projections.   I wonder who that might be ....

The generator now has us projected at 5-13 in conference.  Appears that computers are more cautious than optimistic.

The generator doesn't really attempt to predict anything.  I just have the favored team (per Sagarin) selected by default for convenience.  It'll always overstate the better teams and understate the lesser teams -- for example, in reality a team favored to win the rest of their games will likely drop a few of them, and a team that's an underdog for all their remaining games will likely pull off an upset or two.  If you submit the generator without changing any game results, you won't see any of those upsets occur.

Yes, it did. I'd still say it's an extremely important game but for completely different reasons.

I was just thinking this!  It has the same kind of "must winny" feel to it for complete different reasons.
