I know this "challenge" doesn't mean much without NU playing, but Purdue-Nova has been great so far tonight - Boilers just hit a 3 from half court to tie it at the break.

I would agree considering this is their only real challenging game in the non-conference.  They scheduled a bunch of cupcakes to load up on wins (like they normally do).  And with that being said, I do agree they are very good this year.  Miles might be looking at 0-5 against CU.

CU does have a very nice team this year.  With that said (being the anti-CU guy) they did catch Wisky on an off night.  CU doubled the post all night and Wisky who traditionally is a good shooting team missed 14 straight 3's at one time.  That won't happen often.

 

Again, not to take anything away from their win as that is a very nice win for them, but not often is Wisky going to miss that many 3's.  And a lot of them were wide open looks.

The other thing that stood out is that Wisky out-rebounded CU 42-27 and Wisky had 16 turnovers which seems high for them.  At the end of the day CU found a way to win and that's what matters.  They may have caught lightning in a bottle as well as Wisky not going 11-39 on 3's very often I wouldn't think?  I know one more time this year I would like to see that happen ;)

Obviously this win should be credited to Miles, Nebraska beat Wisconsin 70-58 in the big 10 tournament and Wisconsin went 4-20 from 3. McD is always stealing pages out of Miles book.

I saw the talk about the Nebraska kids but Mo Watson is what stirs that drink.  He's starting at point guard for a lot of Power 5 teams.

 

I watched most of the game with Nebraska not being on tv. A lot of both with Foster. Missed mid range jumpers and lay ups with Happ/Hayes at the rim. I was more impressed with his defense and his ability to create his own shot more than anything.

Foster was battling cramps all game which obviously impacted his shooting.  He also seemed to settle for contested outside jumpers instead of going to the rim - credit for that goes to the big Wisconsin D that didn't allow many driving lanes.  He also missed one dunk :wacko:. 

 

No doubt that Mo stirs the drink, but Khyri Thomas played an incredible game.  He looks so much more confident than last year.

 

The two biggest difference sin this year's Creighton team versus the recent past: much more athleticism and they actually play pretty solid perimeter defense (Foster and Thomas are very good defenders).  Rebounding will certainly need to improve though.

So far the B10 fairing pretty well tonight.

 

Ohio State 72 Providence 67 (Final)

Rutgers 56 DePaul 39 (7:34 left)

Michigan 50 Marquette 26 (Halftime)

Seton Hall 56 Iowa 53 (12:10 left)

 

Hopefully Rutgers and Michigan hold on and Iowa finds a way to win.  Purdue and Northwestern both lost tough games or the B10 could really be up big.  Now, Maryland should have lost their game vs GTown as well (GTown lost to Arkansas State tonight!) And Missouri gave the game away to Xavier in Double OT or the Big East wouldn't be having the best of days.

I mentioned this on another thread, but Rutgers is not a disaster this year. Beating DePaul doesn't mean much but watch Rutgers play. There have some good pieces, they're healthy this year, and they now actually are coached. They're still a bottom feeder, but they'll upset somebody this year and won't be a walkover. (How's that for an endorsement?)
