I can't remember where I had seen it but I believe that our women's basketball team were in the red the farthest of all teams we have at Nebraska.

Found it-

Pretty sure NU volleyball is one of the only volleyball teams to operate at a profit. The "new" arena is part of the reason. Higher attendance.

Like others here, didn't realize NU women.s Bball was that far from a positive balance sheet. Not even close.

Could be wrong, but at one point I read that UConn has about a $2,000,000 yearly profit, and attendance average of about 10,000 (we have about 4,500 roughly)

I'll attach the article where I got the numbers above from-

http://m.omaha.com/huskers/net-gains-in-lincoln-volleyball-is-a-revenue-generator-for/article_2637c720-c903-515d-8aaf-c86c2c3352a0.html?mode=jqm

It talks about women's basketball towards the end of article- says only Tennessee made money in that year and UConn that went undefeated that season lost $2,000,000.
